Flattering Tips for Top Heavy Figures

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

If you have heavier breasts, narrower hips and slimmer legs, make the most of your womanly virtues by showing off your  legs and great cleavage.
It is extremely important to wear a correct fitting bra that doesn’t bulge on top or on the sides. You will look more in proportion. The natural bust line should fall somewhere between your shoulders and your elbow.
Tops worn too tight play up large breasts too much; too big tends to make you look larger. Fitted V or U-neck, boat neck, off the shoulder and collared shirt tops in a knit or woven with a little stretch, are the most flattering. Never wear horizontal stripes. Avoid full or puffy sleeves. Laced camisoles work well under a jacket or top. To create balance, choose an a-line skirt. Play up great legs with skirts an inch above the knee.
A flat front pant with a lower rise, just below the natural waist is flattering. Never wear pleated pants. Five pocket jeans  in a boot cut or a front pocket pant with a wider opening from the knee will help disguise tummy problems. Don’t wear pants with a narrow leg, it will only accentuate top heaviness. Dresses or tops with princess seams tend to make you look slimmer. Don’t cover up head to toe. Showing a little skin is more flattering.

Embellish Your Look Without Looking Over Done.

Incorporate small embellished items such as a glitzy hang bag, scarf, or jewelry.
The embellishment should be near the part of your body that you want to accentuate.
Be sure it is scaled to your figure. Accessories that are huge will overwhelm your figure.
Large, bold jewelry looks best with simple streamlined clothing.
Sequins, embroidery, studs, and trims look classier on basic colors like black and white.
Only wear one embellishment at a time as your focus. Don’t over do it.
If you have more that three accessories on at the same time, not including your ring or watch, it’s too much. Less is always more but bold is beautiful. Make a statement.
