How to Always Have Something to Wear

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Don’t impulse buy. Buy only what you need and what fits properly.  Eliminate everything in your closet that doesn’t fit or you haven’t worn in a year or more.  Get rid of any original faux pas in your closet, no matter how much you paid for it.  Identify pieces that reflect your personality and the message you want to send in your dressing style.
Keep or buy only three colors you like, look well on you, or will coordinate with what’s in your closet. Establish a workable budget and stick to it.  Make a list of only what you need to round off your wardrobe. Avoid buying trendy items. Buy fashionable timeless pieces in a better quality. Buy things that already go with something you have. Add one or two well thought out items per month and include a simple black dress.  Add color or a trendy look by using accessories, fun shoes and textured hand bags. Set aside time each week to shop, on line or off, to buy what’s on your list.
